IntonePower Strengthens Power Quality Solutions at IEEE 1901.3 Dual-Mode Communication Standard Meeting

From October 14 to 15, 2025, the 9th IEEE 1901.3 Dual-Mode Communication Working Group Meeting was successfully held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The event was hosted by the China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI) and co-organized by Holley Technology and HiSilicon.
Over 70 technical experts and representatives from leading organizations—including State Grid Corporation of China, CEPRI, CSG |IntonePower, Beijing Smartchip, and Keda Intelligent—attended the meeting. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the industrialization and global implementation of the IEEE 1901.3 dual-mode PLC communication standard, while witnessing the first Proof of Concept (POC) demonstration of dual-mode products.
IntonePower, a subsidiary of CSG Smart Tech, has been an active contributor to this standard since the working group’s inception in 2023. Leveraging its expertise in Power Quality Solutions, the company showcased itsStatic Var Generators (Svg) and Active Harmonic Filters (AHF), demonstrating how these products can effectively manage harmonics, reactive power, and three-phase load imbalances in industrial and grid applications.
The IEEE 1901.3 dual-mode communication standard is led jointly by CEPRI and HiSilicon, with contributions from multiple domestic and international enterprises. Since the Project Authorization Request (PAR) approval in 2023, the Working Group has organized nine official meetings. At the fifth meeting in Milan in October 2024, the draft standard received unanimous approval, and it has now passed IEEE SA voting, RevCom review, and SASB final approval, officially entering implementation.
During the Tashkent meeting, CSG team emphasized the role of SVG and AHF in supporting industrial adoption of dual-mode PLC technology. By integrating advanced power quality solutions, these products help reduce Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), balance reactive power, and stabilize grid performance—key factors for the successful deployment of smart grid systems worldwide.
Through active participation in the IEEE 1901.3 working group, IntonePower not only contributes to global standardization of dual-mode PLC communication but also reinforces its reputation as a leader in power quality management. The company’s extensive experience in designing, testing, and deploying SVG and AHF solutions ensures that its technologies are aligned with international best practices and ready for large-scale industrial use.
Looking forward, IntonePower will continue to drive smart grid technology advancement through innovative SVG and AHF solutions. By combining international collaboration with cutting-edge power quality management, the company enables utilities and industrial customers to deploy reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy systems.
The successful release and implementation of the IEEE 1901.3 standard mark a milestone in global dual-mode PLC communication, providing a foundation for efficient and resilient smart grid solutions. IntonePower’s contribution highlights its commitment to delivering high-performance power quality products, ensuring industrial users achieve maximum reliability and energy efficiency.
